Inserting Links
We started class by talking about what makes an internet webpage look appealing and interesting.
What makes a web page interesting?

  • Images
  • Text
  • Soriano said–“Boring” on Smartboard. A girl that I don’t know said – “Plain” on Smartboard
We then looked at another webpage with slideshow images and colors and the comments can be found below.
    Other Webpage

Another girl I don’t know said:– “Interesting” on Smartboard
And another girl I don’t know said – “Colorful”
We reviewed how to insert an image in a webpage using this code:

    How to Create Links:
Links on the front page of the New York Times:
    Advertisements
    Links to featured articles
    Pictures can link to information
Links are a door to more information.

    Links have three parts:

(a stands for an anchor, attached to a page)
(h stands for hypertext, click on the text and it leads to another page)
(ref stands for reference, referring to something)
    1. anchor
    2. URL--web address
    3. Clickable words, for example NYTimes

    Combine parts 1 and 2 and 3

An example---Create a link to Google
    anchor-----
    Web address "http://www.google.com"
    Clickable words Google Search Engine
We then finished up by creating a webpage with five links. We used notepad and saved it as links.html.
